My favorite high school memory

I remember that I studied hard for entrance examinations after school. My high school is a school to go on to college, and more 90% of students are applicants for admission to college. I couldn't go to cram school, so I didn't have any ways to study. I used to study alone in my classroom after school. Sometimes, my best friend studied together. We often teach math each other. I have thought that I wanted to stop studying many times, but I didn't hate studying, and I was glad to be able to solve problems which I couldn't understand at first. It was hard for me in those days, but it is a good memory now.

My favorite clubs/ circle

I like tea ceremony club and circle. I belonged a tea ceremony club when I was a high school student. I was a leader of this club. Members of our club got along well irrespective of age. I felt comfortable in this club. With same age members, I sometimes meet and go shopping or have lunch. We have a rule that we go to see cherry blossoms every year. We have been to Kumamoto Castle and zoo before. I like the members very much! I'm in a tea ceremony circle now. People in this circle are very kind and funny. Taking lessons of tea ceremony is hard for me because teacher is little strict. However, I like tea ceremony.

My favorite TV show

My favorite TV show is "manten, aozora restaurant (the whole, blue sky restaurant)", a kind of gourmet programs. It is broadcast every Saturday, 6:30 p.m. Its main emcee is Daisuke Miyagawa, and other guests change every week. They visit various prefectures. They also have come to Kumamoto. They get high-quality ingredients for themselves, and they eat delicious dishes. It looks very appetizing! I can learn how to cook many dishes on this program. This TV show introduces special products of each prefecture. For example, in Kumamoto, karashi-renkon (lotus root with mustard) and basashi. Daisuke Miyagawa and some guests sometimes go fishing in the sea and go mushroom gathering in the hill. I enjoy watching this program every week!

My favorite book

My favorite book is a novel written by Tomihiko Morimi. Its title is "yoru-ha mijikashi aruke-yo otome (Night is short, so walk, girl)". This is a story about campus life of a boy and a girl in showa era. The boy likes the girl, but she doesn't sense his affection. I read this novel for the first time when I was a high school student. After I finished reading, I wanted to be a college student soon because college students in this story, they enjoy a cultural festival, drinking party, circle activities, and so on. I had a image that campus life is very fun! In the real, my campus life is little different from this story, but I like KGU life.

Something special I did during this vacation

My best memory of this summer vacation is going to Tokyo. My high school day’s friend, Yui goes to Capital University in Tokyo. I went to see her with another my high school day’s friend, Tomomi. 

First day, we left Kumamoto at about 15:30. It takes about two hours to arrive at Haneda airport from Kumamoto airport. After that, we rode on a bus, and we spent about three hours going to Yui's house. When we got there, it was about 21:00. We took a bath, and went to bed soon.

Next day, Tomomi and I went to Harajuku and Shibuya by train. Lines were very complex, so it was hard for us to change trains. When we arrived at Shibuya, there were many people and we were tired soon, but we could good shopping and see fashionable people. We lost our ways many time, but it was fun!

The final day, Yui, Tomomi and I went to Roppongi-hills. It was larger than I had imagined. We saw around, and took lunch there. Tomomi and I said good-bye to Yui, and left Tokyo at about 17:30.

I really enjoyed the three days in Tokyo. I want to go there again! I may go there in next spring vacation with my university friends! However, I used a lot of money in this trip, so I have to work hard again :(

Good and bad points about summer

I think bad points of summer are that it is too hot and there are ultraviolet rays. I dislike summer the best of all seasons because I don’t like hot day. In addition, I don’t want to get sunburned, so I haven’t been to the sea for three years. A good point of summer is that vacation is very long! I like summer vacation! I have a lot of times to meet friends, to study, to work, and so on. Summer vacation is precious time for students, so I’ll use it carefully. I want to study English to improve my abilities.

How I study during the vacation

I worked every day, and I didn't have to enough time, so I studied English with my cram school students. Students preparing for taking an examination studied very hard. When I saw them, I thought that I should study harder. I want to help them. I studied English grammar and vocabulary with them. If I don’t study English for a month, I must forget it, and I can’t write or read it. I’m relieved to have chances to study English and the other subjects.  I want to be a teacher in the future, so I should study harder than I was.

What classes I will take next term

I’ll mainly take American history and literature next term. I like studying American and British literature because professors show us many interesting movies in their lectures. However, I don’t like studying history because I can’t learn many things by heart. I haven’t been good at studying them since I was a junior high school student. I’ll take listening class next term, too. First semester, I got bad grade in listening, so I’ll take the lecture more earnestly, and I want to get good grade next term. I’ll take physical education for the first time. I’m going to play table tennis, so I want to play it enjoyable.

My vacations plans

I will have to work harder at an ice cream & crape shop and a cram school in this summer vacation. In summer vacation, my cram school students must study there all day because of the special program of study, so I’m going to work there in the morning. I’ll teach my students English and math. I like studying with my students very much. In the afternoon, I’ll work at an ice cream & crape shop. It will be 10:30 p.m. when I finish working and go home. My summer vacation will be hard, but I have to save money, so I’ll do my best!
